MPA Learning Outcomes

Real problems-real solutions

As a professional in the public service environment you face real problems and challenges in your workplace environment, so you need a course of study that is both relevant and practical. As a student in the MPA program you will have the opportunity to conduct research from the vast online resources of the Norwich University Library; you will apply the results of your research from professional and academic journals and other online sources to problems that mirror situations confronting today's public administration leaders. You will learn how to write effectively as the MPA program requires you to write frequently; all of your written work is reviewed and commented upon by faculty. You will learn how to express yourself clearly as you will find yourself involved in group forums analyzing, discussing and debating relevant topics of interest to the profession of public administration.

MPA graduates can expect to move into leadership positions that call upon the skills and training acquired in the program. Students already in leadership positions while in the program will find that the MPA degree opens the doors to greater opportunities, positions of greater responsibility and new challenges. Many graduates turn to teaching at the community and college levels. A number of graduates begin doctoral studies in order to gain consulting positions or other challenging duties that require the highest academic qualifications. All MPA graduates will discover that the bonds established in the program with fellow students and faculty will stand them in good stead in the years to come.
